1. She wanders out of the house she has lived in for most of her life. Dressed with the abandon of one who has lost something very important to her, she walks barefoot into the traffic with the optimism of one who believes herself to be invisible. This woman is no longer an inhabitant of the real world. Damaged beyond repair, she seeks departure from all that has held her together, held her in place, given her context. A neighbour, concerned to find this woman has left the front door open, will venture inside, uninvited and discover a note. The text is simple, it reads: I am gone.
